RRC_RRCC at Ware CenterThe Red Rose Chorus joined the Red Rose City Chorus and seven quartets to produce a sold-out SRO performance of A Barbershop Christmas at the Ware Center on Saturday, December 20th.

A lot of preparation by both choruses went into the show including two joint rehearsals in early December. And both choruses even learned a new, eight-part song, Harmony, for the occasion.

Arriving early on Saturday, the quartets and choruses did last minute sound checks before getting dressed and ready for the big show. By 2pm, all available tickets were sold and patrons were anxious to hear some great a cappella singing.

They weren’t disappointed.

The ladies of the the Red Rose City Chorus kicked off the program, starting in high gear with a dazzling display of song and choreography. Three quartets – Hot Off the Press, Vintage and JewelTones – joined the mix of Christmas vocal cheer. A mixed quartet, Sum of Each, added another note of joyfulness to an already festive event.RRC_RRCC_1

Not to be outdone, the men of the Red Rose Chorus opened the second half of the concert with two holiday favorites. They then launched into two more modern Christmas anthems full of props and antics before closing their sessions with a sacred set of carols.

The finale featured both choruses singing an eight-part anthem, Harmony.

Spread the word and save the date – the Red Rose Chorus and the Red Rose Cit y Chorus will likely return to the Ware Center for a return engagement sure to please and entertain.
